When I think of home, I think of a place where there’s love overflowing… begins the signature song that Dorothy sings in “The Wiz.” It makes me teary-eyed and nostalgic every time I hear it.
A recent live broadcast of the play that aired on NBC was no different. It has me thinking about home and all that it means to me. Home is where my tribe lives.
Although I’m newly married and we are beginning the search for our home, I will probably always call my parent’s house “home.” It’s the place that I go when there is no other place to go.
My husband and I are looking to create that same sense of security for our sons. We want them to always know that they have a place to go whenever they need love and affection, and for time to slow up. A place called home.
