Putting Feet Behind Our Prayers

Praying hands

By Dawn Onley

Pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on you.” – Saint Augustine

Prayer has legs. And feet. And arms and hands, for that matter.

When we pray, we are asking for God to move in our lives. Prayer relies on faith, but it also relies on work. Prayer should motivate us to act.

I believe that God uses us when He answers our prayers. I’ve witnessed prayer working when I’ve worked. I’ve experiencing the pull of God’s answer after I went through the tests. Some of these tests I passed but many of them I failed.

Failure is a part of the process.

But like a baby learning to walk, every time you fall down, get back up more determined than ever, and keep trying. Never give up.

Eventually, you’ll learn to walk. Before long, you’ll even be running.
